Munich
Munich known to be "The world city with heart", is the third largest city in Germany. Munich, from a cultural, historical and architectural, point of view has much to offer to its visitors. In addition, the city has long since been considered a leading centre in science and research with leading qualified universities.The architecture throughout the city varies whether you find yourself in the inner city or along the royal avenues and squares or parks. Some lovely attractions to keep in mind include the Marienplatz, the Peterskirche Church, the Viktualienmarkt (a market), the Frauenkirche Cathedral, the large Residenz palace complex, as well as four grand 19th century avenues dotted with charming buildings.
Munich maintains a green surface with its numerous parks for repose such as the Englischer Garten, one of the largest urban public parks, the modern Olympiapark and Westpark as well as the Nymphenburg and Schleissheim Palace parks.
The city hosts many museums including the Deutsches Museum, the Bavarian National Museum, Schackgalerie as well as the many art galleries that one can find in the Kunstareal. The city is famed as being a major cultural centre due to the many prominent composers it has produced or has sustained. Some places worth a visit are the Nationaltheater, Residenz Theatre or the Gartnerzplatz Theatre.
Munich, like most cities in Germany, is famous for its beer, particularly the Hofbrauhaus am Platzl, a very famous beer hall indeed. In addition, the city hosts many breweries and is famous for its wheat beer. Munich, with its strong economy and low unemployment, offers an enriching experience to those living there and visitors.
