Dusseldorf
Located on the Rhine river, Dusseldorf has become one of Germany's economic columns. But besides financials, the city is famous for being host to various carnivals and events in the area of fashion and fairs.The city is home to several universities specializing in areas ranging from arts and music to applied sciences. Located on the Rhine, the city has evolved into an elegant and modern city providing the highest standard of living in Germany. Dusseldorf happens to be the home to the largest Japanese diaspora in Europe and so there are numerous excellent Japanese restaurants as well as a striking Buddhist temple.
Some of the main places to visit include Konigsalley, a well-known shopping street, the Oudstad, the old part of the city. Oudstad boasts nearly 260 pubs and home-brew taverns and so it is often considered as the "longest bark in the world". The city provides pleasant city parks. The stroll on the Rhine embankment promenade has come to signify some of the most beautiful paths along the grand River.
Dusseldorf is home to numerous enriching museums and theatres. Some museums recommended to visit are the Goethe Museum, the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, the Navigation Museum , the Dusseldorf Film Museum and the Ernst Schneider Foundation. The museums that run parallel to the Rhine form what is called the "art axis". The numerous galleries and museums that have frequent visitations from international exhibitions make Dusseldorf a "major centre of art and culture".
