Berlin
Berlin is an interesting mixture of different cultures not only due to nearly half a century division before the eastern and western part of the city. For those reasons, Berlin varies greatly in architecture. The city, originally built for nearly six million, now boasts a vast space with its population of nearly 4 million. Now it is a capital famous for having an abundant number of unemployed artists but above all its lively nightlife, full of cafes, clubs and bars.Berlin is separated in districts each being famous in some area. Some of the more interesting districts include Mitte, Charlottenburg, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg, Schoneberg and Zehlendorf. Overall, the city boasts numerous museums and private galleries. Some of them include Museumsinsel, Deutsches Historisches Museum, Neue Nationalgalerie, Mauermuseum at Checkpoint Charlie. Some of the famous private galleries include the Art Center Berlin Friedrichstrafe and the boxoffberlin.
Although Berlin is not generally known for the architecture of its churches, some of the more remarkable ones are Berliner Dom, Marienkirche, Kaiser Wilhelm Gedachtniskirche and Nikolaikirche. One way to get a better view of Berlin from above to visit some of the few high rise buildings in the city such as the Reichstag, Berliner Funktrum, the Berliner Fernsehturm, Siegessaule or the Kollhoff Tower.
Being a cultural capital, the city hosts various festivals and parades throughout the year such as the Berlin Film Festival, Lange Nacht der Museen, Fete de la Musique, the Fuckparade, the Hanf Parade and others. Above all, the city is booming with events happening at theatres, opera or concert halls, or cinemas.
