C. V. Theis Award | Ray K. Linsley Award | AIH Founders Award
Award Recipients

C.V. Theis Award
    Purpose
    The C.V. Theis Award was established in 1986 to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions in ground-water hydrology.

    Rules for the C.V. Theis Award
    1. The Theis Award Committee evaluates the records of the persons recommended by the members of the Theis Award Committee or by any AIH member. The nominees are preferably to be AIH members.

    2. The names of three candidates are selected and ranked by the Theis Award Committee and forwarded to the Executive Committee for approval.

    3. After obtaining the Executive Committee approval, the Chairman of the Theis Award Committee is responsible for contacting the selected person for a verbal response and the award will become official and final when he/she agrees to the following:
      1. Present a lecture/talk of about 10 minutes in length at the annual meeting of AIH. The topic of the lecture/talk should compliment the theme of that particular meeting or related to past, future or needs within the profession of hydrology.
      2. Accept the award personally by attending the official luncheon or dinner.
      3. Provide his/her own travel expenses to the meeting. However, the registration fee and the luncheon or dinner will be complimented by AIH.

    4. If illness or another problem prevents the recipient candidate from personally accepting the award, the official presentation of the award will take place at the next meeting of AIH.

Ray K. Linsley Award
    Purpose
    The Ray K. Linsley Award was established in 1986 to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions in surface water hydrology.

    Rules for the Ray K. Linsley Award
    1. The Linsley Award Committee evaluates the records of the persons recommended by the members of the Linsley Award Committee or by any AIH member. The nominees are preferably to be AIH members.

    2. The names of three candidates are selected and ranked by the Linsley Award Committee and forwarded to the Executive Committee for final selection and endorsement.

    3. After endorsement by the Executive Committee, the Chairman of the Linsley Award Committee is responsible for contacting the selected person for a verbal response and the award will become official and final when he/she agrees to the following:
      1. Present a talk on his/her perspectives of the practice of hydrology of about 10 minutes in length at the annual meeting. The topic of the lecture/talk should compliment the these of that particular meeting or related to past, future or needs within the profession of hydrology.
      2. Accept the award personally by attending the official luncheon or dinner.
      3. Provide his/her own travel expenses to the meeting. However, the registration fee and the charge for the luncheon or dinner will be waived by AIH.

    4. If illness or another problem prevents the recipient candidate from personally accepting the award, the official presentation of the award will take place at the next meeting of AIH.

AIH Founders Award

    Purpose
    The AIH Founders Award was established in 1990 to recognize individuals who have made outstanding, long and dedicated service to the Institute. It was established to honor the AIH founders, Sandor Csallany, Alex Zaporozec and Roman Kanivetsky. The award is given at the discretion of the AIH Executive Board to a member in good standing.

    Rules for the AIH Founders Award
    1. The Founders Award Committee evaluates the records of the persons recommended by the members of the Founders Award Committee or by any AIH member. The nominees are AIH members.

    2. The names of three candidates are selected and ranked by the Founders Award Committee and forwarded to the Executive Committee for final selection and endorsement.

    3. After endorsement by the Executive Committee, the Chairman of the Founders Award Committee is responsible for contacting the selected person for a verbal response and the award will become official and final when he/she agrees to the following:
      1. Present a talk, on his/her perspectives of the contribution made to the Institute or to the practice of hydrology, of about 10 minutes in length at the annual meeting. The topic of the lecture/talk should enumerate the accomplishments of the award candidate and compliment those individuals that have contributed to the award candidate's success.
      2. Accept the award personally by attending the official luncheon or dinner.
      3. Provide his/her own travel expenses to the meeting. However, the registration fee and the charge for the luncheon or dinner will be waived by AIH.

    4. If illness or another problem prevents the recipient candidate from personally accepting the award, the official presentation of the award will take place at the next meeting of AIH.
